   Rachel Rutt was born in Hong Kong in 1992, her father from England and her mother from Singapore. She grew up in Japan with four brothers and moved to Australia with her mother at the age of 15. 

She began modelling at age 17, but chose to complete school before making it her career. 

Rutt was signed to Chic Management in 2008, and made her modelling debut at the David Jones Spring show in August that year. 

She became one of the most sought after models in Australia's 2009 Fashion Week, and since then her career has sky rocketed.
